General English Courses

One of the best places to learn to speak English in the United Kingdom is Oxford House College in London. For one of the best and interesting learning experiences for students at all levels of the English language is our language school in London. We have students that visit us all year around from many different parts of the globe that come for a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures come to us to learn a new language. The reason why so many students come to our language school to learn English is so that they can improve their career prospects dramatically and achieve a better lifesyle. We have a wide range of general English courses to help students do this. Whist on the course students will study how to read, write, listen and speak the English language. Some of the tutors will also teach students how to use the English grammar and vocabulary skills.

The reason why many of students join the general English courses is so that they can learn and understand English in general everyday situations such as going to the bank, using pubic transport, visiting the shops and much more. To help students improve on this many tutors will use different resources to suite each students learning style. The resources including whiteboards, DVD’s, newspapers, magazines and CD’s all of which will be provided by your course tutor. Before joining the course students will need to purchase themselves a course book which is available at the college library to help them study.

Many of the courses available at Oxford House College are there to help students learn to speak English to the best of their ability. So to do this at the start of each English course we ask all students to take a test so that they can be placed in the right learning group with other students at the same English level. As well as this at the end of each month we ask students to go for a councilling session with their tutor so that they can then discuss the students strengths and weaknesses to help the improve further. Learning to speak English takes time and practice so our college recommeneds that all students practice as much as the can to help them improve.

Our general English courses have six different levels to complete one level and move on to the next will take approximatly 180 hours.
